Mosquito Control

If you have experienced a summer in North Carolina, then you are most likely familiar with the irritating mosquitos. Mosquitos begin their emergence in the spring, reach their peak nuisance level in the summer and often times carries over into the fall. Warmer weather, humidity and constant rain/standing water are all beneficial to keeping mosquitos alive. Unfortunately, along with their constant buzzing around and leaving itchy bites, mosquitos are known to carry and transmit harmful diseases.

With over 50 years of experience in the pest control industry, Pestco is constantly finding new and better ways to significantly reduce the mosquito population in our area.

There are several ways to reduce the population, and protect you and your family from these pesky insects:

  1. Remove Habitats: Mosquitos require standing water for two stages of their life cycle. It is important to remove any standing water to aid in the reduction process.
  2. Structural Barrier: To prevent mosquitos (or any other pest) from getting inside of home, be sure to keep doors and windows closed or install window and door screens.
  3. Control the Life Cycle of a Mosquito: At Pestco, we utilize several EPA-registered larvicides and adulticides to control the mosquito population in your area.

When you set up an appointment with Pestco, a highly-trained technician will first inspect your property as well as surrounding areas, discuss treatment options then set you up on a routine service. Contact Pestco today to inquire for more information on how we can help reduce the mosquito population for your area.

Bed Bugs

The first step to any bed bug treatment is for one of our trained technicians to perform a thorough inspection to make a proper identification, locate the majority of the insects, and to go over the preparation sheet with the homeowner/tenant. The most effective way to eliminate bed bugs is through a heat treatment.

  • State of the art equipment is brought into your home, set up to heat your home to over 120°F, and maintained for several hours.
  • This type of treatment requires the homeowner to be out of the home for the entire length of the treatment and several hours after.
  • The Pestco team will perform a follow-up inspection after two weeks.

There are a lot of positive reasons to have a heat treatment as opposed to chemical:

  • A heat treatment can eliminate all types of bed bugs including their eggs
  • Heat treatment can kill bed bugs hiding in even the tightest spots (in cracks, behind outlets, behind baseboards, etc).
  • Eliminates the use of chemicals
  • Kills bacteria and viruses

German Cockroach Treatments

Treatments for German cockroaches require a more intensive treatment which is not covered through our general services. A technician will perform a thorough inspection to solidify that the infestation is being caused by German cockroaches. If that is the case, an intensive treatment will be performed with possible 2-week follow ups. Depending on the severity of the infestation, monthly services may be recommended by the technician.
